In October 8, 2019 the trainees for the Japan training program spent the day presenting about the community or institution which they represent. During the presentations, they introduced their area or institution, talked about present-day challenges and possible solutions. They also exchanged opinions from their point of expertise and expressed their expectations for the training program in Japan.
In the morning Mrs. Ingrid Francisca Morales Jiménez presented about Ixlú and their cultural heritage which includes the Ramón Seed (local culinary product), archaeological heritage (Ixlú Archaeological Site) and natural heritage (Salpetén Lake). Following Mr. Fransisco Cano talked about the Guatemalan Institute for tourism INGUAT and how they approach tourism in the area around Tikal. In the afternoon the first was Mr. Carlos Abigail González Gonzáles who talked about INTECAP and how they coordinate training workshops in the area. Afterwards Mrs. Cristel Michell Pineda Orellana from Tikal Archaeological Park (PANAT) Biology Unit talked about the natural heritage in the park, protection of species and challenges. Lastly, Mr. Cristian Aguilar from the Honduran Institute of History and Anthropology (INAH) talked about the rich historical, cultural and natural heritage of Honduras and some of the challenges his institution faces.
