JICA Training Program 2018, November 9

On November 9, the trainees from Guatemala and Honduras visited Higashi-chaya District guided by volunteers from “Maido-san” followed by a visit to Kazue-machi District. The participants could observe how Kanazawa City integrates both modern and traditional heritage, offering tourists a wide variety of traditional crafts and a well-preserved townscape.

In the afternoon, Mr. Junichi Kumada, Head of Global Tourist Agenda from JTB Tourism Research & Consulting Co. gave a presentation about sustainable tourism and a detailed analysis about local products and tourists expectations. This presentation provided room for discussion among the trainees regarding the situation in their own locality and a reflection on how this knowledge has potential to be implemented.
